How powerful is the Comander in Chief?

The commander-in-chief is not more powerful than the President. It is only a part of the presidential duties. The point is not to make the president a soldier. The point is to make the military responsible to a politician in terms that they can understand.

Privatizing Social Security

If you want to make it a private program, why should the Federal Government be involved at all? And if you expect to have a private system at some time in the future, why should not the first step be to cut the social security tax to eliminate the yearly surplus amount that you won't be needing.

Social Security is not a self-insurance program

It institutionalizes the help children give parents.

Should the Police enforce
the Ten Commandments?

Why? For religious reasons?
I thought the idea was that you should want to be good.

For civic reasons? One of the constraints is that it becomes impractical to have more than 2 to 3% of the population in jail at any one time. The laws need to conform to the world's priorities: justice without fanacticism. The police are not out to change to world, as the socialists and the Panthers have noted. Mostly live and let live, with the occasional exception.
